Our Commitment to Helping You Save
Most energy content is either too vague to be useful or quietly written to push you toward a specific product or installer. We got tired of it.
People researching solar installs, backup batteries, or electricity plans deserve straight answers — not landing pages dressed up as guides. That’s the gap Exspenditure exists to fill.
Who Are We?
The name Exspenditure is a deliberate play on the word expenditure – the money we spend. We swapped in spend to make it feel more active and direct. Because when it comes to electricity bills, solar decisions, and energy choices, most of us are spending more than we need to. We believe that understanding the numbers shouldn’t feel complicated or out of reach.

Where Do You Get Your Information?
Every article on Exspenditure is built from primary sources. For electricity rate data, we use the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), state public utility commission filings, and official utility tariff sheets. For solar incentive programs, we verify directly against DSIRE (the Database of State Incentives for Renewables & Efficiency), state energy office websites, and program administrators. For product specifications, we cite only the manufacturer’s official U.S. product pages and published user manuals — we do not rely on third-party spec aggregators or retailer listings as primary sources.
